Now I'm a Jazz Fan!

So now that the Suns have failed to take out the Evil Empire known as the Spurs, and yea, my dad called it, i pretty much jinxed them (Suns) when i started rooting for them, but here we go again.

Rooting for the Jazz is a little more difficult than rooting for the Suns. See, the Jazz and Kings have a little history, history which you wouldn't know about unless you were, well, a kings fan in the early 90's.

I've been saying that since i moved to Denver its been like the Kings all over again. I left Sac town in 2000 just as the Kings were becoming a post-season staple and had a super exciting team with CWebb, Peja, Vlade, JWill/Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Gerald Wallace and more. In the meantime, Denver's starting lineup around the time i started paying attention to them (01-02) consisted of Nick Van Exel, Juwan Howard, Raef LaFrentz, James Posey and anyone else. You'd think that's a good lineup? actually they went 27-55 and it was the beginning of the Bzdelik/Skita/Camby/Donnel Harvey/Birdman era.

Why am i telling you all of this?

Well now the Nuggets have got superstar power in Melo, AI, Camby, Nene, a good coach in Karl and they're becoming a staple in the playoffs just like the Kings of the late 90's.

So how does the Jazz play in this story?

Well, before the Kings got Cwebb and company they were bad! real bad! While i was in jr high i was rooting for Mitch Richmond, Spud Webb, Bobby Hurley, Walt 'the Wizard' Williams, Lionel Simmons, Wayman Tisdale and others. The Kings were in last place every season until they managed to squeak into the playoffs with 39 wins only to lose to the Sonics 3-1.

For the next few years the Kings would get close to the playoffs, only to run into the Jazz and Karl Malone/John Stockton near the end of the season and get knocked out. One year we made into the playoffs only to be eliminated by the Jazz in the first round.

Nuggets Fans' Time Duncan is my Karl Malone. the Nuggets' Nemesis is the Spurs, the Kings had the Jazz. I've been here before.

Good news though, the kings finally made it all the way to the Conference Finals only to be jacked by, Nuggets Killer, Big Shot Bob (robert horry).

Anyway, the Jazz, only since the roster is completely different, and i hate the Spurs more than anyone, can i pull for the Jazz. But i gotta admit, Boozer, Okur and DWilliams are a blast to watch.

and i think they have a chance

not only have they pulled out some crazy road wins these playoffs, but i like Kirilenko really pissing off the Spurs, and Boozer, he's crazy.

and i really want to see a Boozer vs Cavs final.
