So I've been saying it before the season even started.
The Nuggets need a true shooting guard, and when they traded for JR Smith this past summer, i wasn't impressed.
JR Smith is an attacker, a dunker, who occasionally goes on a hot streak from 3-point land. This is fine during the regular season whens there's less value on the games. But in playoffs, you need to be smart. and smart is something JR Smith doesn't know.
Maybe we can package him and Kenyon Martin this summer for a 3pt specialist like Kapono, Hoiberg. There's gotta be white guys dyin to play in Denver and drain 3's, let Melo, Nene and Camby do the dunking!
anyway, after last nights heartbreaking loss and going down 3-1 to the Spurs, here's to next season with a refreshed Melo/Iverson combo, real game plan, healthy Nene, real point guard, and no JR Smith.
After Game 4:
The Denver Post
The biggest news coming out of the Nuggets video session Tuesday morning was coach George Karl announcing he was benching reserve guard J. R. Smith.
"He's done," Karl said. Smith's mistakes throughout the series have grated on Karl, leading to the decision to bench him for Game 5 to be held Wednesday in San Antonio.
The final straw apparently was Smith's ill-advised 3-pointer with 25.7 seconds left in Game 4 on Monday night with the Nuggets trailing 93-89.
"And then, of course the one with eight seconds to go, from 50 feet," Karl said. "I just love the dignity of the game being insulted right in front of me."

So, I know you think Scott
Hastings is a horrible color analyst. I actually really like him. But
let me tell you why. That you tube clip from ESPN kills me. It is
hands down the most important moment in game three. It was clearly the
turning point, and they're talking about Manu's situation with
international basketball? Who cares? Meanwhile, I was watching the
game on Altitude and when JR makes the bonehead pass, Hastings says
immediately something like, "Remember that moment, if the Nuggets lose
that was the turning point." That was great color analysis. And, I
didn't have to hear about stupid Manu.
Actually, the first comment if from John Boyle, not me, i just quoted him.
Anyway, if i had cable right now, i just record every dumb thing Hastings said, or didn't say. I think its more of the fact he doesn't know any inside info ya know, he doesn't update the audience, he just talks nonsense.
People should read this.
