Where it went wrong for the Cowboys

NFL

so i watched the Cowboys/Seahawks game last night with my friend Alan, and we got to see a great game. I don't like the NFC, and i don't really have any teams in the playoffs, so i'm more rooting against teams like the Ravens, Patriots and i thought, Cowboys. but last night i couldn't feel worse for Romo and Bill Parcells. Romo said that he's never felt lower. that sucks.

the irony is how much parcells hates kickers and special teams, and how it haunts him

but i think the real mistake happened a little earlier.

remember when Seattle went for it on 4th down and didn't make, leaving the cowboys starting on the 1 yard line. their first play was a throw instead of a run out of the end zone. now Julius Jones was having quite a game, i think he got over 120yds for the game. why not run it out like everyone always does? no, they throw a quick pass to Terry glenn.

so what is glenn thinking here?

first, i've got to catch this, then, i have to not get tackled for a safety, then i have to actually gain yards to make this play work.

give the ball to Jones on a run up the middle and what is he thinking?

go straight, run hard, don't fumble

anyway, Glenn does fumble, giving the seahawks the safety.

i mean, don't you have a untested quarterback throwing this pass also? i dont know about you, but this seems like a poor decision from the Dallas coaches, and in turn, cost them the game.

now hopefully New England loses today

Bmer, I agree that the quick pass to Glenn was a bad call, so much more risky. Even if he didn't get the ball knocked out, he only would have picked up a yard or two anyways. But, sheesh, the Seahawks sure did get lucky at the end there. Yet you gotta give it to their defense, though, keeping them outta the end zone a couple of key times on those last plays. I thought Romo was gonna get in the end zone on the botched field goal. That was a very entertaining ending fo sho.

Yeah, it was a bad call. What made Romo's bad play even worse is that if he hadn't fumbled he was getting close to the first down, which was still out there for the taking at the 1 yard line.

I don't like the Seahawks. If Chicago (read: Grossman) has a bad game, the hawks might end up in the NFC championship game. N.O. can beat 'em, but if Philly makes it we might have to hear about bad officiating in the big game for another year.

At least the Vikes will be able to say they trounced the NFC champs earlier in the year.

the seahawks are terrible though. i like both Chicago and N.O. this weekend.

the game to watch is San Diego and New England. all teh pressure is on San Diego since Marty hasn't won a playoff game in 10 years or whatever.

where it went wrong for the cowboys?

i'd have to say having tony homo as your quarter back, even worse as your place holder.

marty is the worst coach...wait i take that back, art shell would hold that record.
